The Role
We are seeking an experienced Adult Social Care Solicitor to support the WMDC Adults Legal Team on a locum basis. This is a fully remote role, ideal for an experienced local authority lawyer comfortable managing their own caseload.Key Responsibilities
- Advising on all aspects of adult social care law
- Handling matters including Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS), and Court of Protection work
- Providing timely, pragmatic legal advice to adult social care teams
- Managing cases independently and meeting statutory deadlines
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive (CILEx)
- Proven experience in adult social care law within a local authority setting
- Strong knowledge of Care Act, MCA, DoLS, and COP proceedings
- Ability to work autonomously in a remote environment
