Role Overview
Working within a commercial property function, this role is focused on delivering annual property asset valuations. Valuations are undertaken by external agents and cover a substantial commercial investment portfolio and a significant operational portfolio. The role is responsible for the robust check and challenge of all valuation outputs.Key Responsibilities
- Review, check and challenge asset valuations submitted by external valuers for investment and operational property portfolios.
- Verify valuation input data against property records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assess valuation methodologies, assumptions and variables to determine whether valuations can be approved or require further clarification.
- Liaise with external valuers and ensure all correspondence is accurately recorded on the dedicated check and challenge system.
- Record approval of valuations once all issues have been resolved.
- Undertake additional property-related tasks as required, which may include rent reviews, lease renewals, data reviews and updating the property management database.
Requirements
- MRICS qualification.
- Strong understanding of commercial property valuation methodologies.
- Proven experience in valuing both investment and operational properties.
- Experience within a commercial valuation environment, either in a similar organisation or private practice.
