Job description
We are recruiting on behalf of our client who is looking for experienced Facilities Assistant in Barnsley to work within a premises team assisting member(s) of staff, carrying out duties to well defined systems and procedures relating to the premises.
Appropriate PPE must be worn at all times and uniform
Duties of the role include:
- Assist with locking and unlocking premises.
- Separate recyclable materials from waste streams, operating waste compactors and ensure refuse areas are clean, safe and well maintained
- Erect and dismantle temporary stalls or other equipment, ensuring all equipment is well maintained and left safe and well maintained
- To be customer focused and respond politely and positively to members of the public, market traders or businesses, including responding to minor requests
- Providing day to day cleaning of a designated area either working alone or as part of a team in conjunction with the relevant cleaning specification.
- To work outdoors in all weathers
- To be responsible for the safe storage of chemicals and carrying out routine basic maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Undertake a wide range of demanding tasks and skills with a level of precision in accordance with schedules
- Undertaking any necessary training and development
- Carrying out room set ups and event support activities as and when required.
- Any other relevant duties as required
This position is a temporary role until 10/1/25 working 4 days out of 7 on a 2 week Rota:
Shift 1
Monday 7am to 6pm, Wednesday 12pn to 6pm, Thursday 7am to 6pm, Sunday 7am to 6pm (TBC)
Shift 2
Tuesday 7am to 6pm, Wednesday 7am to 1pm, Friday 7am to 6pm, Saturday 7am to 6pm.
