Our client is looking for a Catering Assistant on a temporary contract based in Wakefield.
The duties for this role will include, serving customers in a polite and friendly manner, basic food preparation, ensuring the kitchen service and seating areas are kept clean and tidy and safe at all times.
Must be confident using a till system, coffee machines, serving customers and helping out in the kitchen
Hours will be on a rolling 4 week rota, including working 3 weekends per month.
Working hours: 0830 – 1630
Essential requirements
Experience in delivering visitor services in a busy catering or hospitality environment
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate or willingness to undertake training
Experience in dealing with retail/cash transactions and operating tills
Good verbal communication skills
Able to understand and follow instructions
Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
Excellent communication and customer care skills, with a customer centred approach to service delivery
Desirable Skills
Hospitality/Catering qualification NVQ Level 1 or equivalent
First Aid
Ability in working large functions
Experience in basic record keeping
Health and Safety awareness and training
Awareness of relevant legislation: DDA, Food Hygiene, Health and Safety
Good numeracy and cash handling
Polite and friendly at all times to clients, customers and colleagues
Self-motivation, commitment and enthusiasm and the ability to work calmly under pressure
