Senior Transport Planner

Lynx Services are recruiting on behalf of our client based in West Yorkshire . Our client is a large well know manufacturing company.

Due to an increase in workload our client is now looking to recruit a full time Permanent Senior Transport Planner

Overall Responsibilities:
To schedule and plan routes and ensure route optimisation and effective use of all company vehicles;
To ensure company compliance of all transport policies, legislation and procedures at all times;
To ensure the fleet of vehicles are maintained in line with legal requirements;
To be responsible for the day to day supervision of drivers and admin, providing administrative and managerial support to the leadership team and ensure a smooth, efficient transition of product to the customer;
To ensure the smooth operation of the Transport Office, compiling and maintaining documentation and managing information.

The Role:
To be responsible for ensuring drivers operate in a safe and legal manner and comply with WTD and Driver Hours legislation;
To answer queries and enquiries from both external customers and internal communications;
To ensure the transport department support the business objectives of delivering a quality product on time every time;
To develop and maintain excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
To strengthen client relationships and ensure the successful continuance of business operations;
To ensure safety regulations and compliance with relevant legislation;
To communicate with customers about issues or queries and support the resolution of such;
To answer Customer Service queries regarding missing or lost items;
To liaise with external and internal customers;
To ensure the efficient and timely clearance of returned goods;
To coordinate the use of automated and computerised systems where necessary;
To ensure constant scrutiny of loading procedures;

The candidate
Previous experience of working as a Transport Planner with
CPC qualification preferred
Good knowledge of the UK road network;
Good knowledge of the Road eye system;
The ability and knowledge to run the company operator’s license;
Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with both internal and external stakeholders;
Excellent organisational and planning skills;
Focus on the delivery of a quality service;
Good teamwork and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and direct the staff team;
